What is Save the Arts Evansville?
Save The Arts Evansville is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth artists in the local community. Our mission is to provide financial assistance and educational opportunities for aspiring artists to pursue their passion and develop their creative potential. Through partnerships with schools and other community organizations, we strive to provide a supportive network that helps artists achieve their dreams.
At Save The Arts Evansville, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to explore their artistic talents, regardless of their background or financial situation. We support a wide range of artistic mediums, from music and dance to painting and sculpture, and work to provide guidance to artists. By supporting the next generation of artists, we hope to inspire creativity, self-expression, and cultural enrichment in our community for years to come.
Founder & Future
Save The Arts Evansville was founded by Mary Smith, who was inspired by her great niece's passion for music and the financial barriers that prevented her from pursuing her dreams. Her great niece’s mother struggled to afford the costs associated with her violin lessons and musical performances. This experience motivated Mary to start Save The Arts Evansville, with the goal of providing financial assistance and educational opportunities to artists of all ages in the local community.
Looking to the future, Mary envisions Save The Arts Evansville expanding its reach and impact. With the guidance of the Board of Directors, she hopes to collaborate with other individuals and organizations who share her passion for supporting arts, to provide even more assistance and opportunities for artists to showcase their talents. Through these efforts, Mary believes that Save The Arts Evansville can make a lasting difference in the lives of local artists, by empowering them to pursue their artistic passions and achieve their full potential.
